Derek Phillips and JAZZ ULTIMATE

GRAHAM COYLE is one of Australia's greatest hot pianists. Able to play two handed piano a la Teddy Wilson and Fats Waller, he can entertain audiences alone or as part of a swinging group.

BRIAN DAVIES started playing guitar in his native Wales and developed his present style in swing bands in the UK. Being no exception to the tradition of Welsh singing excellence, we regularly feature him on 'Voice'.

IAN HARROWFIELD is one of our multi-instrumentalists much in demand around Melbourne. Clarinet, alto sax, baritone and flute pose no problems for Ian.

BARRIE EDWARDS played the sousaphone at school, adding string-bass to his bow later. He learnt to swing with Brian May's and Allen Eaton's bands and is now a regular at Jazz Ultimate, particularly with 'Comfort Zone', one of our hot quartets.

KENN JONES specialises on the tenor saxophone and puts his huge smooth sound to great effect on the cooler side of jazz, leading his own trio, 'Three-n-Easy'.

DEREK PHILLIPS learned the brass instruments in the school band and once played trombone with the Geelong Symphony Orchestra. Falling for jazz early in his career he switched to trumpet and has played in small hot groups ever since.

KEN WHITE is another talented player who eases marvelous melodies from his guitar, swings the whole band, and adds smooth and sexy vocals at the drop of a hat.

DAVID GARDNER is another virtuoso reed man who until recently played clarinet in the RAAF Show Band. He is now playing exciting jazz with Jazz Ultimate groups.

IAN SMITH plays trumpet, tuba, string bass, drums, banjo and piano, but has a shortcoming. He can't play them all at once. Oh, but he also sings. Ask for Ian and get great value.

EMMA GILMARTIN is the lead singer of the Skylark Quartet, and if she dispenses to you her unique cadences of swing and jazz she favours, you'll be glad she did!

These jazzmen and women will come together in just the right combination to provide you with the musical entertainment you require.
